Course Overview
The Online M.A. Islamic Studies is a 2-year (4-semester, extendable to 4 years) postgraduate program offered by CDOE, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Gachibowli, Hyderabad, NAAC 'A+' Grade accredited, with UGC-DEB recognition.
The 18-course curriculum covers Life of the Prophet and the Pious Caliphate, The Qur'an and Hadith, Islam and Modern Issues, the Umayyad and Abbasid periods, Islamic Law and Mysticism, Islam in India, Indian Muslim Thinkers and Movements, the Ottomans, Contribution of non-Muslims to Islamic Studies, Al-Kalam & Muslim Philosophy, and Islam and Interfaith Studies.
Students build historical, theological and interfaith-studies knowledge across the 4-semester structure, plus a Discipline-Specific elective in Islamic Beliefs, Rituals & Obligations.
The medium of instruction is Urdu.
