Online RBU Exam Pattern

How the course is built:

• All PG courses run in semester mode under CBCS, a clear and steady structure.

• Semester I and II sit neatly in year one, and Semester III and IV follow smoothly in year two.

• Each semester carries a tidy 25 credits, made up of five courses worth five credits each.

• The full course adds up to 100 credits, spread sensibly across Core Courses, Compulsory Elective Courses, and Open Elective Courses.

• You finish within N+2 years, and since N is the two-year minimum, you get four years in all.

How marks work:

• Internal Assessment through the SRS carries a helpful 20%, and the end-semester exam carries the remaining 80%, a clear and balanced split.

• A theory paper runs for two hours for 40 marks, while a practical paper runs for four hours for 40 marks.

• You need 40% of full marks to pass a course; a benchmark, and internal marks and end-semester marks are happily added together for that.

• If a course needs a second attempt, it comes back in the matching semester cycle, a sensible arrangement, so a Semester I or III paper returns at the next Semester I or III. Your earlier internal marks carry forward safely, which helps.

• Students with a benchmark disability are warmly welcome to request extra time, in writing, to the Joint Registrar (Examination) at least 15 days before the exam.

• Exam Centres usually stay fixed, though in special cases the Joint Registrar (Exam) may kindly allow a change for a modest ₹200.

How Exams Run in Rabindra Bharati University CDOE
