Online MBA From Sastra University
SASTRA University runs two separate online MBA programmes. That's a genuine bonus. This guide gives you that advantage early. This guide covers both. The well-rounded Standard MBA. And the standout MBA with ACCA 9-Paper Exemption, built for exciting international finance careers.
Every fact below comes straight from SASTRA's own pages. Not aggregator sites. Not marketing summaries. You'll find real, named faculty. Exact fees. A full semester-by-semester curriculum. Where SASTRA's own pages disagree, this guide says so clearly. You get the fullest, most confident picture. That's the reliable version most searches won't show you.
SASTRA University runs two separate online MBA programmes, both delivered through its Directorate of Distance and Online Education (DDE). Both share the same duration and credit structure. They differ in focus, elective content, and total fee.
Feature | Standard Online MBA | Online MBA with ACCA 9-Paper Exemption |
|---|---|---|
Focus | HR, Finance, Marketing, and General Management electives | International Finance, mapped to ACCA's own syllabus |
Duration | 2 years, 4 semesters, 80 credits | 2 years, 4 semesters, 80 credits |
Semester Fee | ₹70,000 | ₹70,000 |
Total Fee (Discounted) | ₹1,80,000 | ₹2,00,000 |
Best Suited For | Broad, cross-functional management skills | Finance professionals targeting international accounting or audit careers |
Both programmes share the same core credit structure, the same per-semester fee, and the same delivery model. The ACCA pathway costs ₹20,000 more in total, reflecting its added, externally-mapped content and the 9-paper exemption it carries into the ACCA qualification.
Classes fit smoothly around your job. Pre-recorded expert lessons are uploaded weekly. This runs across a rich 12-week cycle. You can watch them any time. On any device. Right until the semester ends. That's real, welcome flexibility, built right in.
Live sessions run every alternate week. Weeks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12. Each runs two encouraging hours. These sessions clear your doubts. They cover material you've already studied. This thoughtful design puts your work schedule first.
Eligibility warmly welcomes any standard academic pathway. That includes 10+2+3, 10+3+3, 10+3+4, or 10+2+4. Any recognised university qualifies. Both programme pages leave work experience open. There's no minimum to meet. That's a genuinely welcoming bar for new graduates.
The elective system lets you build real depth. You gain valuable skill in a brand-new function. You can choose Finance, Marketing, or HR as your track. No prior domain experience is required. That opens real, exciting doors.
University Grants Commission (UGC). SASTRA has held Deemed-to-be-University status since 2001, under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
UGC Graded Autonomy Regulations, 2018. SASTRA holds Category I status under this framework. UGC awards this only to institutions meeting its strictest quality benchmarks.
National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). SASTRA earned an A++ grade in its fourth accreditation cycle. This carries a score of 3.76 out of 4.00.
National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). SASTRA's own "About" section states rank #29 for 2025. A separate FAQ block, on the ACCA programme page, cites #28 for 2024. Both figures appear on official SASTRA pages. They likely reflect two different update cycles. Confirm the current listing yourself if the exact rank matters to your decision.
Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK. Twelve of SASTRA's engineering programmes carry this international accreditation, valid for nine years.
Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO). The Government of India recognises SASTRA under this status, a form of external validation separate from academic accreditation bodies.

SASTRA breaks its teaching delivery into four great components.
e-Tutorial. Pre-recorded videos, where experts deliver lectures on specific topics. Videos upload monthly, with one module released each month. Each course runs 3 modules total, with 4 chapters per module. Videos stay accessible until the semester ends. You can access them anytime, on any device — phone, computer, or tablet.
e-Content. Asynchronous mentoring material. This includes e-books, lecture notes, PowerPoint presentations, and open-source resources. This supports comprehensive learning alongside the video content. It's accessible anytime, on any device.
Webinar. Live, synchronous sessions. You're expected to fully study the previous module before attending. Each webinar runs in one of two time slots: 5:15 PM to 7:15 PM, or 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Sessions happen on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, per the published programme schedule. These sessions focus on clearing doubts about the current module's content.
Assessment. Each course runs 3 assessments total, not 6. These start in week 5, and run in weeks 5, 9, and 13. Each assessment window opens Monday at 12 AM and closes the following Sunday at midnight. Your best 2 out of 3 scores count, carrying 30 marks of internal weightage. Assessments mix multiple-choice, descriptive, and assignment-based formats.

Merit-based scholarships. They're available across its online programmes, MBA included. Ask your admissions counsellor for current eligibility criteria. Terms can shift by intake batch. Worth flagging for full transparency.
Four flexible payment options, confirmed directly on both programme pages:

Pay your semester fee on or before the registration deadline.
Pay your full year's fee upfront, on or before the deadline.

What's included in your base fee: interactive learning content and Self Learning Materials. Live sessions with industry experts. Doubt-clearing webinars. Semester exam fees for all four semesters. Genuinely useful career support services.
Billed separately, if needed: re-exam fees for repeat attempts, and standard administrative charges.
A separate, clearly optional service costs ₹15,000. It covers career planning, resume and LinkedIn support, interview preparation, industry mentorship, and job-readiness training — a valuable boost if you want it. SASTRA keeps this exclusive to enrolled students and separate from the base MBA fee, with total transparency.
SASTRA and Veranda HigherEd publish their refund and cancellation terms clearly. These apply to both programmes.
Refund with more than 21 days to commence: You may request a refund. A penalty of ₹5,000 is deducted for Indian students (USD 125 for international students). The remainder is returned within 30 days of a valid refund request.
Refund within 21 days of commencement: No refund is available.
If SASTRA or Veranda cancels the course: You receive a full fee refund within 30 days of notification.
Batch transfer: If you need to move to a later batch, a transfer fee of ₹5,900 applies, plus any differential fee between the two batches. Batch transfer requests must be submitted at least 21 days before commencement and require explicit approval from the institute.
